ST. PETERS, Mo. (KSDK) - St. Peters, Mo. police are looking for a man accused of stealing a wallet and using one of the stolen credit cards at an area Target store.
Police say they were contacted June 13 after a man said his wallet was stolen from inside his gym locker at Gold's Gym in the 5200 block of Highway 94. The victim said his wallet was inside his gym bag with his keys inside a locker that was secured with a lock. When he returned to the locker he noticed the lock was missing and his wallet was gone.
A short time later, more than $800 was charged to one of the stolen credit cards at Target in St. Peters. The suspect tried to make another large purchase, but left after a clerk asked for identification.
The suspect is believed to have committed similar crimes at gyms in Arnold and Maryland Heights.
Surveillance images have been released by Gold's Gym and Target of the suspect. He is described as African American, between the ages of 32 and 45-years-old, standing between 5'10" and 6'0" tall, with a heavy build. He has facial hair on his chin, and was last seen wearing a light-colored hat that may be brown, light-colored plaid short-sleeve button-down shirt, gray pants, and either eye glasses or sunglasses.
