ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A news conference is planned Monday with U.S. Rep. William Lacy Clay, Jr. and regional and national Environmental Protection Association officials to announce developments related to the cleanup for the Carter Carburetor Superfund Site in north St. Louis.

Representatives of Sen. Claire McCaskill and Sen. Roy Blunt, Mayor Francis Slay, state Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, members of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, and officials with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis will also be in attendance.

The Carter Carburetor Site, a former gasoline and diesel carburetor manufacturing plant, is located on North Spring Street, next to the Boys & Girls Club.

Elevated levels of polychlorinated biphenyls, trichloroethylene, and asbestos have been found at the site.
