CNN - A rare illness is showing up in Florida.
Three people - all adults - have been confirmed to have the mosquito-borne illness Dengue fever, according to the state department of health.
The Health Department said the illness likely came to the U.S. from Americans who were bit by Dengue-inflected mosquitoes while traveling internationally. Doctors say the illness - which is also known as "breakbone fever" can be very painful.
The most common symptoms include high fever, severe headache, joint and bone pain and rash.
Officials say younger people who get infected might not have many symptoms, but that elderly people or those with health problems may become seriously sick.
