MOORE, Okla. (KSDK) - Volunteers from across the country arrived in Moore, Okla. Monday to clean up debris and damage from a deadly storm that ravaged the region earlier this year.
Among them was Kelley Milner, from St. Louis, who says it was difficult to see the damage in person.
"I was ok yesterday until we got to the school, I almost lost it, I had to walk away, it was just so bad, I couldn't handle it, it was so sad," Milner said. "And then we got here and she started talking about her neighbors were digging the children out of the mess and it broke my heart. And then she called us her angels and I almost lost it again."
While she admits that the trip has been sometimes difficult, she says she's also met many lifelong friends. Her time in Moore has been mostly spent helping a couple rebuild their home.
