Jerrell Sherod, Rachelle Oliver, and Andrew Schafer
ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - Three St. Louis County residents are accused of voter fraud.
Jerrell Sherod, 30, is charged with one count of election offense for knowingly making a false sworn statement in his declaration of candidacy for alderman; Rachelle Oliver, 53, is charged with one count of election offense for knowingly making a false sworn statement in his declaration of candidacy for mayor; and Andrew Schafer, 31, is charged with two counts of election offense and two counts of forgery in connection to Sherod's and Oliver's candidate declarations.
"My office has zero tolerance for fraud in elections. We are looking into this matter to see if we can offer any assistance to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney, St. Louis County Police Department or St. Louis County Board of Elections to help ensure that justice is served," said Secretary of State Jason Kandor.
A spokesperson for the St. Louis County Police Department says they were contacted earlier this year by the St. Louis County Board of Elections about possible voter fraud surrounding absentee ballot requsts.
Detectives say their investigation led them to Sherod, Oliver, and Schafer.
