ST. JOHN, Mo. (KSDK) - A man has been charged with second degree murder after shooting and killing his son on Pike 52.
Michael Lee Phillips, 45, is accused of shooting his 22-year-old son, Jeff Chisholm, on Aug. 31. The Pike County Sheriff's Office received a call at 8:50 p.m. stating that a man had shot his son on Pike 52. Chisholm was pronounced dead at the scene.
An ensuing investigation revealed that Chisholm had been in both verbal and physical altercations with Phillips and other family members prior to his murder, according to Pike County Sheriff's Deputies. Phillips also told investigators that he fired a warning shot at Chisholm.
Phillips is currently being held in Pike County Jail on a $200,000 cash-only bond.
