BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The Belleville Police Department received a major donation Tuesday from an officer injured in the line of duty.
A suspect shot Sergeant Jon Brough in the face while he was storming a house in 2006. Brough suffered severe injuries, but survived.
Brough and his legal team gave $40,000 to the Belleville Police Trust Fund to buy safety and operation gear for other officers. This money is part of a legal settlement between Brough and a ballistic shield manufacturer.
