CrossFit is a growing workout trend in the St. Louis area. There are about 14 gyms in the area, each offering a range of classes to train beginners to elite athletes.
Many local CrossFit gyms are even offering classes to kids and teens. CrossFit Valley Park hosts a teen class, targeting kids between 12 and 16-years-old. The kids class is aimed for children as young as 7-years-old.
In April 2012 NewsChannel 5 profiled Diana Davidson, wife of ex-St. Louis Blues President John Davidson. She was ranked fourth in the world at the CrossFit Games qualifying competition in the female masters age 55-59 division. Prior to moving to Columbus, Ohio, she was a fitness coach at CrossFit St. Louis in Brentwood, and called her ranking one of the biggest achievements of her life.
