KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) - Kirkwood High School is taking a pledge not to text and drive.
Numerous students were up early on Wednesday to try out an obstacle course in the parking lot, showing them the dangers of the all-too-common practice.
A recent study found that 78 percent of teen drivers say they're less likely to text and drive if friends tell them it's wrong or stupid. Ninety percent said they'd stop if a friend in the car asked them not to.
Kirkwood takes the pledge 9 a.m. It's all part of the nationwide "It Can Wait" campaign.
