TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/CNN) - Some Alabama and Auburn fans will do anything to show their love for their college football team. Case in point: the president of an elite group of pet stylists and groomers has transformed one of her poodles into a living, breathing symbol of her true love for 'Bama.
A photo taken of Oona coiffed up to 'Bama perfection went viral. It was taken right after her owner, a professional creative animal groomer, put her 'do together.
"Oona absolutely loves the attention. She loves the attention whether she's in color or not, and of course the color draws more attention which makes her a happier girl," said professional groomer Bullet Brown.
Brown is the president of the National Association of Professional Creative Groomers, an elite group of highly-trained groomers who use only safe, animal-friendly products.
"We love creative grooming, we have groomers all over the world, but our highest priority is always the safety of the pet. There is no groom that is worth the health and safety of the pet," said Brown.
So this fancy 'do lasted only a day while Oona went to a shelter in Sylacauga called Arf. For a donation, Oona would pose with humans. Broom gave Oona a bath, but the specialty dye will be 'Bama proud for up to nine months.
Brown's best work is when she closes once a month to groom the Arf shelter dogs.
"A lot of times when you go in to a shelter, they're not, they do everything that they can, but they don't always have time to professional groom and bathe, 50, 100, 200 dogs, so we close our shelter and do that for them, anything we can do to get these dogs a home," said Brown.
Oona herself is neutral when it comes to teams. Brown's husband is a huge Auburn fan, so, next year about this time, you'll see Oona transformed into Aubie.
