CLAYTON, Mo. (KSDK) - A not-guilty plea has been entered by the teenager who is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident in the Spanish Lake area in June.
Charles Guice, 17, of unincorporated north St. Louis County, remains free on bond pending his next court appearance in October.
Prosecutors allege Guice was speeding and driving without a license when he struck and killed two year old Darion Griffin on June 16, 2013 in the 1500 block of Redman Road.
The toddler's aunt, 17 year old Shariea Evans, was also hurt after she was clipped by Guice's car while trying to pull Darion out of the way.
Guice fled the scene of the accident and was arrested several days later, telling police he left the scene because he was afraid.
