CHICAGO (AP) - Family members and a pastor of a 3-year-old Chicago boy who was one of 13 people shot on the city's southwest side say he's resting in a hospital.
Semecha Nunn is the boy's grandmother. She says he's "doing better" and is "very strong" after he had plastic surgery.
Family members say the boy was shot in the cheek.
Corey Brooks is a pastor at New Beginnings Church of Chicago. He spoke to the media along with family members outside Mt. Sinai Hospital.
Brooks says the toddler was talking when he arrived at the hospital and is heavily sedated.
Hospital officials say Friday that they boy is a patient there, but couldn't provide an update on his condition.
