St. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) -- Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 16-year-old boy after his body was found Saturday.

Police discovered the body of Chauncey Brown, of the 2900 block of Keokuk Street, just before 4:00 Saturday afternoon.

Brown was found with a gunshot wound in the 4700 block of Cote Brilliante Avenue.

Police said Brown and two acquaintances had been at Club 187 located on Martin Luther King Drive and Marcus Avenue Friday evening.  They saw several people they had been feuding with at the nightclub.

One of the suspects threatened to shoot the teenagers.  In order to avoid a fight, they left the club.

Witnesses told police that the three apparently were confronted with a gun and scattered, before a white Dodge Challenger carrying four men tried to run them over.

Brown's family called the police and reported him missing since he did not respond to their calls or text messages. Brown's family told police that he was at a party at Club 187.

Police searched the area of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Marcus and found Brown shortly after 4:00 Saturday afternoon.

Police took a 16-year-old in custody and also recovered the vehicle used in the shooting.
