JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is hoping to capture a burglar caught in the act on camera.
The victim in this case is even offering a reward for the suspects capture and conviction. Judging by the video, investigators say their suspect knew what he or she was looking for when they broke into a local business. The hard part may be for authorities to figure out who they are looking for.
Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday at Ruma's Deli on Imperial Main Street, someone pried open the front door and pried open two cash registers.
Security footage shows what happened, but the burglar wore a hood and even gloves, making it hard to tell who they are. The owner says this person stole about $500 and did another $500 in damage.
"You feel violated, this is a good area. That's why we opened up a store down here. Just kind of makes you wonder why somebody needed $400 or $500 so bad," said Brock Ruma.
The sheriff's department is asking anyone with any ideas on who this could be to call them. The owner is promising $1,000 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
