ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - SeatGeek, an online ticket search engine, says the average resale price of a ticket to Game 1 of the National League Championship Series at Busch Stadium Friday night is 40 percent more expensive than tickets that were sold for Game 5 of the National League Division Series.
According to SeatGeek, the average resale price of a NLCS Game 1 ticket is $175. That's 20 percent more expensive than last year's NLCS Game 1 ticket resale price of $146 per ticket when the Cardinals played the San Francisco Giants.
Although it's been 25 years since Los Angeles has made it to the World Series, St. Louis NLCS tickets are more expensive than the games that will be played in California. Part of the reason for that may be because Dodger Stadium holds 9,000 more fans than Busch Stadium.
Some of the best seats in the house Friday night are selling for an average of $505 on SeatGeek. Those are in the Diamond Boxes behind each dugout. That's more than twice their face value of $233. Some fans have paid up to $2,000 per ticket for seats behind home plate.
The cheapest available ticket on SeatGeek right now is $54 for Standing Room Only. A seat in the nosebleed section will run you at least $75.
