(KSDK) -- People in Illinois and many other states found themselves unable to buy groceries with their food stamp cards on Saturday, after a routine check by vendor Xerox Corp. resulted in a system failure.
This computer issue caused problems for EBT card users. A Xerox facility that handles EBT card services for several states experienced equipment problems Saturday morning.
The outage caused EBT cards to be rejected at retailers in 17 states that are serviced by that Xerox facility.
The issues should be resolved soon and is in no way linked to the government shutdown.
