CLAYTON (KSDK) - A spring 2014 trial date is set for the man accused in the October 2012 shooting deaths of a mother and her blind son, shot to death while walking near their home.
Carlos Suber, 22 of University City, is charged with two counts of first degree murder and armed criminal action in the deaths of 54 year old Phebe and 24 year old Mosary Stallings.
The mother and son were walking along Sutter Avenue near Bartmer Industrial Drive after shopping at a nearby store when Suber allegedly gunned them down.
Police say Suber had previously made threats against the family, although authorities would not elaborate on the nature of those threats.
When police arrived at the crime scene, they recovered what was believe to be narcotics on the ground.
Suber is set for trial April 28, 2014. He remains jailed on a half million dollars cash only bond.
