St. Louis (KSDK) - Three people are now charged with kidnapping a 5-year-old boy from St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Porter Stone's father, grandmother, and according to relatives, his aunt, all face charges.
On Wednesday night Porter's mother was preparing to reunite with her son.
Porter's father, Jeffrey Stone, along with his grandmother, Rhonda Matthews, and a woman named Heather Minton, who relatives say is Jeffrey's sister, are all charged with kidnapping, interference with custody, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Wednesday night the three were in jail in Alsip, Illinois outside Chicago.
Authorities say the father, who is getting divorced from Porter's mother and who does not have custody, took his son from the hospital after the boy was discharged.
The 5-year-old has a heart condition and had been hospitalized for several days. He is in line to have a heart transplant.
After an Amber Alert was issued, police found them in a hotel room in Alsip, along with the other relatives.
There was concern Porter would not have enough medication, but police say he had not run out, and was okay.
"It's my understanding that he had about a 24 hour supply of medication with him, so it would have run out today some time," said Scott Zablotny with the Alsip Police Department.
The probable cause statement in this case states that the father repeatedly called and texted the mother when he had their son, calling her names and taunting her.
Porter is in a Chicago hospital. Relatives say he has been checked out and is okay.
They say when his mom gets there they will fly back to St. Joseph where they live. They are expected to be home Thursday.
