St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Two men from the Metro East are still on the loose after being indicted by a grand jury on robbery and assault charges.
According to court documents, the incident occurred on August 28 along Leonore K. Sullivan Boulevard. The victims were parked on the cobblestones along the riverfront when a suspect approached them and asked for cigarettes. When the victims said they didn't have any, the defendant walked away, but came back a short time later asking for change.
When one of the victims gave the suspect change from his pocket, a second suspect got out of a car he'd been sitting in and brandished a gun and fired at the victims. One of the victims was shot in his hand and shoulder. The other was not wounded.
Both suspects fled the area in the car they drove up in.
Surveillance footage showed the suspects, identified as 24-year-old Brian Heidelberg of Belleville and 23-year-old Demarlo Johnson of Alorton, at a gas station attempting to use one of the victims' credit cards.
Both victims identified pictures of the two men who robbed them.
Brian Heidelberg and Demarlo Johnson are still at large.
