Collinsville, IL (KSDK) - A pair seriously injured in a deadly three-car crash involving a trooper has received a settlement from the state of Illinois.
Kelly and Christine Marler were awarded $700,000 for injuries they suffered in the November 2007 crash that also killed teenage sisters, Jessica and Kelli Uhl.
Trooper Matt Mitchell was driving more than 125 miles per hour, talking on his cell phone and sending email, when he crashed into the Uhl's and the Marler's cars.
Christine Marler was eight months pregnant at the time.
Her baby was later born healthy, but she had to undergo extensive physical therapy.
