CARLINVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A 31-year-old Houston, Missouri woman was killed in an accident Thursday afternoon while driving to visit relatives in Bunker Hill Township.

According to Macoupin County Sheriff Don Albrecht, the accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. on Rust Road, less than a half-mile west of Prairietown Road. Authorities discovered a 2003 Ford Explorer had rolled over and the driver, Erin Jarman, had been ejected from her vehicle and was unresponsive.

Local fire and rescue crews arrived on scene to assist police in aiding the woman, but were unsuccessful. A medical helicopter was summoned, but could not fly due to extreme weather conditions.

Erin Jarman was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. by the Macoupin County Coroner's Office.

Albrecht said investigators believe icy roads and high winds contributed to the accident.
