BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A 20-year-old Metro East man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a vehicular hijacking at an area Steak N Shake.

According to Captain Donald Sax, a spokesman for the Belleville Police Department, the hijacking took place Friday, January 11 just before 2:40 a.m. at the drive-thru of the Steak N Shake in the 4300 block of W. Main Street.

The 20-year-old female victim told police that while she was ordering food, the suspect got into her car, implied he had a gun, and demanded she drive him to Fairview Heights. When the victim refused, the suspect demanded to be dropped off near the Town House Motel.

Sax said police located the suspect, identified as Dwayne Tottleben, in the 400 block of N. Illinois and apprehended him.

Tottleben is being held on vehicular hijacking and invasion charges, pending further investigation.
