(KSDK) - There are new developments in the ongoing flu epidemic gripping much of the country right now.

Illinois' top doctor says there are some flu shot shortages across the state, but he says that's a good thing, because it means people are getting the message to get vaccinated.

Statewide, nearly 400 people have been admitted to intensive care units with flu-related problems, and 27 have died.

The flu vaccine is available at many drug stores, doctor's offices and public health clinics.
