WASHINGTON, Ill. (KSDK) - A central Illinois school district is considering a new plan to arm its teachers.

Illinois is the only state that still bans concealed weapons.

To skirt that law, Washington, Illinois, may train a handful of teachers as auxiliary police officers, because that would allow them to carry guns on school grounds.

Board members first heard about the plan Monday night, and are now considering the idea.
