ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against a man accused of unlawful possession of a firearm/ammunition.
Authorities say an officer was patrolling the area of 24th Street near State Street in East St. Louis Friday around 10:40 p.m. when he conducted a registration check on a red 1994 Acura Integra.
The registration returned as a stolen vehicle, so the officer stopped the driver and took him into custody.
The officer searched the vehicle and found three .45 caliber rounds of ammunition in the center console.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Terry R. Pennix, is a convicted felon and currently on probation.
Pennix is held on a $50,000 bond.
