KSDK -- The volunteer utility assistance charity Heat-Up St. Louis, Inc. is offering help to elderly and disabled or low-income Missouri and Illinois residents heat their homes this winter, but continues to ask for donations to help cover future requests.
Since 2000, Heat-Up St. Louis, Inc. has helped more than 198,500 people through referrals, utility grants, public education, and through its resource hotline. The charity's goal is to help people avoid using unsafe measures to heat their homes and not resort to forsaking their prescription drugs or food to cover heating costs.
