(KSDK) - Americans are urged to drive with their headlights on and wear white ribbons Friday to commemorate National Missing Children's Day. St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay proclaimed it also Missing Children's Day in St. Louis during a ceremony held Thursday. The families of local missing children attended, including Christian Ferguson, Bianca Piper and Arlin Henderson. The parents of Shawn Hornbeck were also there. He was found in January, four years after he disappeared. Craig and Pam Akers say his recovery has made them more determined to help find other missing children. They said Shawn is doing better every day and trying to catch up on school work so he can graduate from high school on time. Click on the video link to hear the Akers in their own words.
