KSDK-Two weeks ago, he was a third string quarterback who nobody knew. Ryan Fitzpatrck held clipboards during games and watched quietly from the sidelines.
Now, he is the NFC offensive player of the week.
Fitzpatrick threw for 3 touchdowns, 310 yards and had a passer rating of 117.
Fitzpatrick said, "Yeah, it's been hectic. It's funny going from a guy who nobody knows to sort of this guy that everybody is calling and wants to talk to."
And of course, his Harvard degree has been a major topic of conversation with the Rams, and it started a long time ago.
Ryan said, "During training camp, some guys were in a deep heated discussion. So I walked over to see what they were talking about. They say, ‘Fitz you can answer this question.’ I say, ‘Okay, maybe it’s some trivia question.’ They say, ‘What do you think would hurt more: getting hit in the face with the trunk of an elephant or being hit in the face by a donkey.’"
Fitzpatrick this week will try to answer a bigger question: Can he be a great quarterback again?
