The Oscar winner and lifestyle blogger is opening up about her marriage, a topic she usually avoids in interviews.
While chatting with Amanda de Cadenet on her new Lifetime show The Conversation, Paltrow admitted that she suffered from pastpartum depression after the birth of daughter Apple. "I couldn't connect to anyone. I felt like a zombie. I felt very detached," she said, according to US Weekly.
Paltrow, 39, continued: "I just didn't know what was wrong with me. I couldn't figure it out. It never occurred to me. My husband [Chris Martin, 35] actually said, 'Something's wrong. I think you have postnatal depression.' I was mortified. 'No I don't!' And then I started researching what it was and the symptoms and I was like, 'Oh, yes I do.'"
