St. Louis (KSDK) - Want to help starving families in Kenya and Haiti? Thanks to members of the Washington University Cross country team, you can now do it, one run at a time.

The idea all started on the way to the Division III cross country championships.

Two Wash U runners decided there had to be a way to use running to solve the global food and water crisis. And at that moment, running company, Janji, was born. It's a new line of running clothes made with elements of the Haitian and Kenyan flags in its design. Part of the proceeds from each sale goes to buy food, water and medicine for families in those countries. The idea is to start in countries like Kenya and Haiti and eventually expand the outreach mission to countries all over the world.

So far, dozens of retailers have already signed on to carry Janji. You can get your first look at the product Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Big River Running Company at 14047 Manchester Road, Manchester, MO 63011.

For more information on the brand, visit Janji's website.
