(KSDK)-St. Louis

Cardinals fans at Busch Stadium Friday night for the Phillies game had to endure a second streaker, running across short centerfield in his birthday suit.

It was Fredbird, with all his imaginary bird parts uncovered for all the world to see.

The incident brought back memories of the 1974 song "The Streak" recorded by Ray Stevens.

"Oh, yes, they call him the Streak
Look at that, look at that
Fastest thing on two feet
Look at that, look at that
He's just as proud as he can be
Of his anatomy
He gonna give us a peek"

Fredbird followed basically the same path chosen by a real-life streaker the night before.  The 22-year-old from Jefferson City is facing criminal charges as a result.  Thursday night, the streaking suspect was tackled by security and threatened with a taser.

As usual, Fredbird was pretty much ignored by security, despite his efforts to provoke them.  The Cardinals mascot is charged with Poor Judgment.

"Oh, yes, they call him the Streak
Look at that, look at that
He likes to show off his physique
Look at that, look at that
If there's an audience to be found
He'll be streakin' around
Invitin' public critique"

The feathery mascot first darted, and then slowed to a thoughtful trot in his oh-so-Fredbird fashion.  It took Cardinals fans a few moments to realize they were witnessing another streaker.  For those old enough to remember the Bugs Bunny Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons from the 1970's, Fredbird looked like Foghorn Leghorn wearing his red nightshirt.

"Oh, yes, they call him the Streak
Look at that, look at that
He likes to turn the other cheek
Look at that, look at that
He's always makin' the news
Wearin' just his tennis shoes
Guess you could call him unique"
