Maybe it's the new fashion trend in the U.K.? Prince William and his wife, Duchess Kate, were spotted wearing matching red sneakers as they watched the track cycling competition at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Continuing their role as Olympics ambassadors, the young royals were casually dressed -- she in a red polo shirt and navy leggings with a navy pullover with red trim.

But it was the blazing red "trainers," as the British call them, on their feet that stood out. Hers were Adidas Supernova Glide 4, which she has worn before, according to the HRHDuchessKate blog, which follows her fashion.

Will and Kate have dressed in similar colors before: Soon after their wedding last year, they were snapped on a walk in Scotland wearing purple sweaters (or jumpers, as the Brits call them).

In the stands at the Velodrome, they were all smiles and enthusiasm, sharing jokes and participating in a wave (why do the British call this a "Mexican" wave?), as British athlete Sarah Storey set a world record during the opening session of the competition.

The couple are expected to make other appearances at the Paralympics, although Prince William will fit it in between duty sessions at his RAF base in Wales. Prince Harry is expected at the swimming competition on Monday, his first engagement since photos of him naked in a Las Vegas hotel room appeared, causing him embarrassment and trouble.
