(NBC) -- The summer-long search for the country's top new entertainment act comes to a close over the next two nights.
The "America's Got Talent" finale begins tonight with performances from the six finalists.
The winner will be announced Thursday night. You can watch it live on NewsChannel 5.
This year's finale promises to be different from most.
Singers won "America's Got Talent" in five of the first six seasons.
But for tonight's finals, there's not a singer in sight.
David Garibaldi "CMYK" blend music, dance and paint to captivate audiences, while fellow artist Joe Castillo choreographs sand, color and music into stories of faith and hope.
Musician William Close's creation, the "Earth Harp" caught the judges' attention early on.
"It really turns the whole theater into the instrument and I've got a lot of cool tricks up my sleeve," Close says.
Also ready with new tricks are "Olate Dogs", performing alongside father and son canine trainers.
It's been 20 plus years of comedy club shows for Tom Cotter. Now, it's his biggest stage yet.
"I'm more intimidated because my family's in the crowd. Usually, it's faceless people that I don't have anything invested in," he says.
Rounding out the finalists is the pint-sized 19-member dance group, The Untouchables.
A million dollars and a show in Las Vegas are on the line.
America's vote will decide the winner.
You can cast your vote after tonight's show.
Thursday night's two hour finale will feature performances from Justin Bieber and Ne-Yo.
