St. Louis (KSDK) - Halloween isn't until Wednesday, but the weekend is packed with things that go bump in the night.
For adults, St. Louis is home to a haunted house that is repeatedly rated one of the best in America. The Darkness in Soulard is open every night now through Halloween. A $3 ticket inside will send you through haunted hallways and rooms with more than 100 animations, scenes and sets that will send chills down your spine and screams out your mouth.
Halloween in the Central West End has something for everyone on Saturday including your pet. There's a kids costume parade and party at 11 a.m. and a canine costume parade at 1 p.m. but the big event starts later Saturday night at 8 p.m.
That's when the adults get super-creative with costumes. It's been known as the biggest Halloween party in St. Louis for almost 30 years.
There's also a one night party at the Little Hills Banquet Center in St. Charles called the "Contamination Halloween Horror Show." It includes a costume contest, games, music, food and things that are creepy.
"The party goes from 8 to midnight, but then at midnight VIP ticket holder we're going to do the midnight ghost tour of St. Charles which is just phenomenal," said Dave Dyer.
A little less scary, but more fun for smaller goblins is Mercy Children's Hospital Boo at the Zoo Spooky Saturday. This is a free trick or treating event that starts at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Children are encouraged to wear their costumes.
