St. Louis County, MO (KSDK) - A profound push to stop bullying has made its way to the St. Louis area. It's based on the beliefs of a student killed in the Columbine High School massacre.

Rachel Joy Scott was the first student to die in the shooting. One week after her death her family found an essay she wrote about how one act of compassion can start a chain of reaction to make a huge difference in the future.

On Monday morning, students at Logos School in St. Louis County committed to taking "Rachel's Challenge" by replacing bullying with kindness.

Logos School serves at-risk students with academic and emotional needs. Administrators say Monday's message was especially important to them.
