ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - With the winter storm underway what better way to spend a day off school than sledding? We asked our Facebook friends what their favorite sledding hills are and here are the results.
Jaime Ann Leach said her favorite sledding spot is Art Hill in Forest Park. Others agreed with her putting Art Hill as the top sledding hill in Missouri according to Facebook.
Art Hill is right in front of the Art Museum and stretches from the Art Museum to the Grand Basin. It is considered to be a St. Louis tradition. They offer day and night sledding and usually set up bon fires for sled riders to keep warm. The park also sets up hay bales at the end of the run to keep people from sledding into the lake. Art Hill is located at 1 Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, Mo, 63110.
Another favorite on our Facebook page is Suicide Hill also located in Forest Park. This hill is steeper than its neighbor, Art Hill, and is located on Lagoon Drive on the fairway of Forest Park's golf course.
Pleasant Ridge Park in Fairview Heights is a favorite in Illinios according to our Facebook friends. Julie Langford describes the sledding hill as a, "U shaped hill... slide down one side, walk up the other and slide down. Place is always busy when it snows!"
Facebook friend Laura Obal adds, "No obstructions except for the other sledders! It's fun for the dogs too since, it's the only off leash park around!" Pleasant Ridge Park is located at 401 Pleasant Ridge Rd Fairview Heights, IL 62208.
