In her first interview since November 2012 and her fifth visit to the Late Show with David Letterman, Lindsay Lohan was peppered with questions by Dave on Tuesday's show.
But first she tried to joke about why she was there, "I thought I was doing Fallon." Dave loved that.
He then admitted to her that he has made jokes about her "activities" in the past, revisiting some of them. "Do you routinely go around grabbing stuff?"
Letterman: "Yes or no, do you steal stuff?"
"No," she said, laughing. He continued to read jokes about her, before getting a little more serious.
Letterman: "Now, aren't you supposed to be in rehab now?"
Lohan: "Do you not watch anything that goes on? ...May 2nd."
Letterman: "May 2nd - and how long will you be in rehab?"
Lohan: "Three months."
Letterman: "How many times have you been in rehab?"
Letterman: "And how will this time be different? What are they rehabbing, first of all? What is on their list? What are they going to work on when you walk through the door?" (The audience laughs.)
Lohan (laughs): "We didn't discuss this in the pre-interview, I'm just saying to everyone."
Letterman: "No, it'll be three months, and - "
Lohan: "No, I think, to be honest, I'm the happiest when I'm working and the healthiest, and I think this an opportunity for me to, you know, focus on what I love in life. And I don't think it's a bad thing. I think it's a blessing...and not a curse."
Letterman: "To be able to, yeah - it's perhaps a life saver, a career saver."
Letterman: "Now, do you have addiction problems?"
Lohan: "Now you sound like Dr. Phil." (The audience laughs.)
Letterman: "Yeah, I'm sorry. Is it, like, alcohol? Do you drink too much?"
Lohan: "We've discussed this in the past."
Letterman: "Did we really? When did we discuss - now I'm the one who's having the blackouts...I oughta be at rehab. For the love of God, what is wrong with me?"
She got a little serious more saying, "I'm a target. I've always been. And I've put myself in situations ... and it wasn't funny and ... you grow up and you mature. ... I'm not trying to deny any situation." She added that she's "looking forward" to rehab and "taking time for myself."
And Letterman, after joking he and Jimmy Fallon would be driving her to rehab, said, "You have enough spine, enough sense of yourself, enough poise to come out here and talk." Linds got teary. "I love seeing you," she said to Dave.
