ST. IGNACE, Mich. (WPBN/WTOM/CNN) - Thousands joined in on an annual Labor Day tradition in Michigan: the Mackinac Bridge walk.
Participants woke up bright and early to make the five-mile trek.
The 56th annual bridge walk drew nearly 40,000 walkers from around the country. It was led by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. He clocked a personal best 57 minutes, six minutes faster than last year.
