LOS ANEGELES (CNN) - Tom Hanks' real-life role as a juror came to an abrupt end. He was on a domestic abuse trial in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors admitted someone in their office talked to hanks outside court, and thanked him for his service. That's a no-no.
The defense asked for a mistrial, but instead settled on a lesser charge.
The city attorney's office says it's reviewing the situation.
There's no word from Hanks.
