Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-New York)
New York, NY (CNN) -- A year after resigning over a scandal, former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner may be planning a comeback.
Several New York media outlets, quoting sources, are reporting Weiner wants to return to politics.
The speaker of the city council was asked about it during a news conference today.
"I wish Anthony and their family all of the best. Those are private decisions for them to make, but I wish them all the best," says Christine Quinn, New York City Council Speaker.
Weiner's camp has not commented on the news reports.
He resigned from Congress in June 2011 after admitting he sent lewd pictures of himself to women he met online.
Before the scandal broke, he was considered a leading candidate for mayor.
Local news media report Weiner is sitting on a four-point-five-million-dollar campaign war chest.
