DALLAS (AP) - Authorities say the charges that put an unwitting victim of a midair explosives hoax under arrest in Texas were drug-related.
Officials say Christopher Shell was arrested at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday on outstanding warrants for two drug possession charges - less than 2 ounces of marijuana and less than 28 grams of a controlled substance.
Shell was jailed Friday morning on $3,000 bond in Collin County near Dallas.
Shell had been flying home to celebrate his 29th birthday when he ended up being the victim of a trick that forced the plane's return to Philadelphia. He was escorted off the aircraft at gunpoint, then cleared of any wrongdoing.
A man has been charged with falsely reporting that a passenger was carrying an explosive substance.
