(CNN) - A lawyer for Doctor Conrad Murray says jail is causing his client health problems.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter last year in Michael Jackson's death.
He was sentenced to four years behind bars with the possibility of parole.
Murray has been isolated in jail because of his notoriety.
Now, his attorney is complaining that Murray's five-by-seven-foot cell is so cramped it sent the doctor to the hospital Sunday night with shoulder pain and blood flow problems.
Murray's attorney is asking the Los Angeles County sheriff for an alternative solution, which could include monitored home confinement.
