CHICAGO (WBBM/CNN) - A Chicago woman is accused of lying about her baby being kidnapped.
Police say the 25-year-old mother reported her son missing Wednesday.
She called 911 saying her car was stolen with the 1-year-old inside.
Several officers were on high alert looking for the child. While the car was actually stolen, the boy was safe at his daycare.
The mother reportedly lied because she wanted police to find her car.
"The case was she dropped her baby off at daycare. Upon signing the child in, someone had jumped in her car because she left her car running and they drove off," said daycare owner Eltonjia Thompson.
The mother is charged with felony disorderly conduct.
