NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (KXTV) - The North Highlands boy shot five times while playing outside during a birthday party is home from the hospital.

Eri Raya, 10, was released from UC Davis Medical Center Friday, and is now receiving some care at home, according to his older brother.

Raya said the shooter pulled up in a vehicle in front of the house while he playing outside around 11:15 p.m. on April 20.

"Me and my brother and one of my friends were outside, and like four people in a car came and started to shoot," Raya said.

The gunman called out to Raya before shooting.

"He said 'what's up,' that's all," Raya recalled.

That's when the man shot Raya in the legs, back and arm five times.

Raya was rushed to UC Davis Medical Center in critical condition. Ten days later, he was able to help police draw a sketch of the shooter.

"I feel angry because they shot me," Raya explained.

Raya said he is still scared and just hopes the shooter is arrested soon.

"Maybe some people [will] come and start shooting me again," he said.

Investigators with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department still do not have a motive and are trying to find the shooter.
