TOWSON, Md. (CNN) - Students across the country are returning to school, and for one Maryland teacher the reunion is extra meaningful.
Erika Brannock's school year was cut short in April after she was injured in the Boston Marathon bombings.
The 29-year old's left leg was amputated above the knee in the attack, and her right leg was severely injured. She was standing near the finish line waiting on her mother to finish the race.
