MARIANNA, Fla. (CNN) - Crews in Florida are working to exhume dozens of human remains at a former reform school. Researchers believe nearly 50 children were buried there.
The exhumations at the Dozier School for Boys comes after years of controversy.
The school closed in 2011. Former students have told stories of beatings, sex abuse and killings dating back to the 1940s.
A state investigation found no evidence of criminal conduct.
It's expected to take several months for researchers to begin identifying the remains. Many families are just hoping for answers.
