President Obama will attend a memorial service on Sunday for the victims of this week's mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, said White House spokesman Jay Carney.
Details of the event, including the time and location, will be forthcoming, Carney said.
Obama wants "to mourn the loss of these innocent victims and share in the nation's pain," said the spokesman.
Thirteen people, including the shooter, were killed in Monday's mass killing at the Washington Navy Yard.
