Gdynia, Poland (NBCNC) -- Thousands braved the cold night air in Poland to enjoy some massive ice carvings.

Artists from Poland and Bulgaria spent weeks designing and carving some 66 ice sculptures for an annual ice festival.

This year's theme was the host city and what each artist interpreted as characteristics of the southern Polish city.

The sculptures included jellyfish, shrimp and impressions of the city's landscape.
