St. Louis (KSDK) -- A police investigation is putting the owner of a security company in the spotlight.
Sources close to the investigation tell NewsChannel 5 Hi-Tech Security, Inc. is suspected of criminal activity. Adam Strauss is the owner.
NewsChannel 5 has confirmed through city records, that Strauss owns the property witnesses said St. Louis police searched on Thursday in the 4000 block of Laclede. St. Louis Police said they executed a search warrant at a residence there.
Witnesses describe the items police were seen removing from the house: several computers, and boxes.
But, neighbors say they know very little about Strauss. All they know is that he owns Hi-Tech Security, a company that provides security guards patrolling St. Louis communities. The service is known to employ off-duty city police officers and standard security guards.
Hi-Tech Security is located in the 1200 block of South Vandeventer.
No one with the security company will answer questions about Straus or the company.
But, Laclede residents are talking about what they've seen.
"There were may be 20 to 30 SWAT team members and detectives and they were raiding the house there, and they carried out a bunch of stuff: boxes, bags, computers," said Dan Burghoff, a neighbor. "They were there for several hours."
St. Louis police are not commenting on the case other than to say the investigation is ongoing.
