St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - One woman claims to have enough groceries stockpiled in her basement to last her an entire year. And another's amazing shopping deals help her get most things for free. And NewsChannel 5 introduces you to one other - from Soulard - who is being featured on TLC's new show "Extreme Couponing."

"I consider myself an extreme couponer cause I don't care what time I have to get the deal," Rebecca Routson said in the casting tape she sent to TLC about spending less than $50 a month on groceries.

In the series, she's seen among the many with fully-stocked shelves in her basement - all the items bought with coupons - just for Routson, her boyfriend and their two dogs. And it's all that that gained the St. Louisan a spot on "Extreme Couponing's" premiere episode Wednesday night at 8 p.m.

"My best tips would be to buy at least two papers every week and if you're a large family, buy one paper for every member of your family because when a deal comes up, you're gonna want to have multiple coupons so you can buy more of that item at the low price instead of going back to the store and paying full price later," Routson explained. "Another tip would be to start small. Don't think you can be extreme all at once. Try a couple deals at a time." And, she added, don't get overwhelmed.

Routson, 25, works for a financial services company in the area.

She and friends are having a viewing party to watch the episode at the Tin Can Tavern downtown.
